Forgotten Treasure
by
Lawrence Tierney
In
January 1945 a small German convoy carrying English POWs and priceless
art treasures heads through Northern Italy towards the Brenner Pass in
the Alps. After a ferocious bombing attack from the air, the German
survivors hide the treasure in an abandon mine, and protect it with
booby traps. No one is certain of the exact location of the mine.
Years
later, a lone English POW survivor arranges with friends to find the
mine. He is unaware that a group of German gangsters have also become
aware of the treasure, without specific knowledge of the mine's
location.
The
discovery of the mine and its treasure, followed by the resolution of a
deadly confrontation, is the essence of this story.
